BCC and RAC Endorse Travel Plans
In the Executive Summary of their report "Business Travel: Choice or Necessity, David Frost Director General BCC and Edmund King Executive Director Royal Automobile Club Foundation said:
"Businesses need to have travel plans in place supported by senior management - SMEs should be encouraged to engage with business travel
planning - businesses should develop business travel policies"
Peter Wignall Managing Director of the Workplace Travel Plan Company responded:
"It's great to see travel plans advocated as a way of improving business profitability and to help tackle congestion. Their assessment concludes that congestion is costing business £18billion a year, with 86% of business feeling the effects - and it's going to get a whole lot worse.
There is no doubt travel plans can help to reduce both travel to work and travel whilst at work".
